sending message to specific user


Is it possible to send a message to a specific user of group with "wall" command? Seems that this command will broadcast the message. thanks

Use mail(1) instead, see this article, it gives a good example.

wall always goes to every user.

Look at write(1). It is similar to wall(1), but you can specify a user.
