SATA and IDE Drive
 

Hi, I'm curious about the dvd drive performance in my recent experience.
I have two drive which I tried to rip two DVD at a time and to my surprise the IDE out perform the SATA.
Is this normal?
Or is there something I miss like a driver for SATA to heat it up?

So far on my systems seems to depend more on the drive. Have lightning fast examples for both and irritating slow examples for both.

In that application you'd likely be limitted by the speed of the slower DVD device. You don't need a special driver for SATA. There are factors other than IDE and SATA that impact drive performance.
