Run-Level in Ubuntu
Dear all,
I have changed the run-level of boot up using the following configuration,
#/etc/event.d/rc-default ------> telinit 1
When I boot, i go into the prompt login, my problems is, if i want to change back to GNOME, how ya? Just type startx?
Please assist.

You can try to run things not run at runlevel 1 (including X). Probably, startx will work, too.

If you want to boot into the CLI and not the GUI, you need to do
Code:
sudo update-rc.d gdm remove
To enable GDM again, you would do
Code:
sudo update-rc.d gdm defaults
Runlevel 1 is usually used just for system maintenance and many services will be disabled by default.
