i'm compiling kernel 2.6.18.1 for ubuntu 6.10 atm
is it possible to reuse the splash screen from the default kernel on my own?
i did a search in the forum and didnt find much help
I had some problems with the 2.6.18-ck1 like losing automount for cd's and flash drives. If you add the lines:
capability
vesafb
fbcon
unix
to the /etc/mkinitramfs/modules file, you'll be able to reconfigure your new kernel to use the splash. At least it worked on Dapper.
that didnt work
what i did was i compiled the kernel into a deb package then install it
when it was installing it says could not find splash screen...skipping or something similar
