Removing Ubuntu from my pc


Hi guys..
Couple weeks ago i've installed Ubuntu 6.x to my deskop. Before it there was no any operating system. Now i want to remove it however when i insert windows cd i cannot boot from cd. Can someone help me.. To be honest i don't know anything about linux

But no, seriously. Ubuntu isn't affecting your ability to boot from cd, so suss that out and you should be fine.

Of course, the first question is why on Earth use a three year old distribution? It'll be very much out of date, which is not what you want if you're just picking it up

If you cannot boot from the CD either the CD isn't bootable or booting from CD is not set up in your BIOS (or at least isn't tried before booting from the harddisk). This is nothing to do with Linux.

i've tried the cd on my laptop, it works great.
i've checked BIOS and configure.

So when i want to remove ubuntu, if i just insert windows cd should it boot it self or wat? im confused abit i guess

It should boot .
A other thing is if Ubuntu has used the drive totally if will install ,
windows I mean .
It might be better to delete create and format the drive first in NTFS being windows file system using gparted.

If you are having problems booting from cd and think your bios are set up OK you could try smartboot manager which you put on a floppy.Insert the floppy and the windows cd.Smartboot manager should appear and from its interface select the device you wish to boot from..your cd drive.
