Remove From Panel - lost Main Menus

Using Ubuntu 7.10 Gnome I right clicked on a search icon on my top panel and selected 'Remove From Panel' thinking this would remove just the search icon. However it removed the whole panel so I have lost the menus in Application; Places; System; Time and Power Off Icon.

Any assistance very greatly appreciated.
Thank you

I don't use gnome, so I'm guessing here.

Try right-click on the desktop. Do you get a menu offering the option to configure the desktop? In the configuration tool, can you add the top panel back to the desktop?

Right click on your panel, Add to panel:
-Quit
-Volume control
-Menu bar
-Notification area
-Clock
This is similar to default look of this panel.

Thanks both but in answer to your responses:

Right Click on the Desktop gives me the following options
- Create Folder
- Create Launcher
- Create Document
- Clean Up by Name
- Keep Aligned
- Change Desktop Background

I do not have a panel to right click on.

OK, I think you have your bottom panel, right click to your bottom panel and you can see New Panel option. After you create new panel, move them to top of screen.
