Or you could use Ubuntu C.E. (christian edition) that includes 'DansGaurdian'.

The only difference between C.E. and Dapper is some Wallpaper and the included Apps, GnomeSword and DansGaurdian.

You dont have to download, burn and install it either. Just run the script!

Ubuntu laptop. The laptop is being used for porn. Need to remove all movie viewing capablities.
Eh.. wait a second. If the laptop is being used for porn, why would you want to remove all "movie viewing capabilities" !?

I am assuming Totem but I am will be positive in about 2 hours or so.....

Many of us should remember IE and it being prone to infections. Well its was nearly impossible if not at all impossible to remove IE for Windows without crippling the system to death and/or just having it not possible. The icons could disappear but it was still there.

Well I am not saying Totem is doing this but perhaps Ubuntu has a "core-set" of programs you cannont remove mainly so some idiot doesnt on accident???

However I will have some more data a bit later today.

well, if that's the case then you probably didn't have totem-xine installed, as in the command... by default, totem-gstreamer is installed, so try doing the remove on that one instead...

in any case, you can take a look by doing something like:
Code:
dpkg --get-selections | grep totem

If you do it, go into the bios and make it only boot to the hard drive, and password protect the bios. That being done, the easiest way to tamper would be to crack open the case and reset the bios password. I doubt that is gonna happen, but if it does youll probally notice (just check later to see if the pw is still set)

you could also make the dvd drive not readable by that user by changing some permissions..... as an alternative if the stuff is comming in on disks
