removable usb device (no icons created)
Hi folks,
I just went from Kubuntu 5.04 to 5.10 (Breeze) via fresh install. The neat feature about automatically creating the mounted/unmounted icons on my desktop for whichever removable usb drive I plug in, is NOT working aymore.
The O/S recognizes the devices fine; it creates the mount points such as /media/BrandName and does mount the device correctly. However, Konqueror always looks for it in /media/sda#, thus giving an error message! In other words, it detects the devices but does not refer to it as the mount point given by the O/S... Moreover, due to this error, it does not create the corresponding desktop icons...
It really sucks that this feature stopped working! Any leads in how it could be fixed? I suppose it has to deal with KDE development? One more thing, which path does Konqueror refer to when I type media:/ ? It shows all device icons there.
Thanks in advance for your help!
Fred
