Q: configure ubuntu not to create .trash* on USB?

Hello :)

Is it possible to configure ubuntu (Gnome?) not to create .trash* directories on removable media such as USB memory sticks?

This may help you manage it anyway.

open your file browser, go to edit section and select preferences. Go to the behavior tab and check the include a delete command that bypasses trash. Should be down at the bottom. use delete instead of move to trash.

Thanks symatic :)

I already use that; I guess I have to remember to use it too!

It would be nice if there was a way to enforce it so pressing the delete key no longer works.
