Properties in kdmrc being overridden.

I recently reinstalled the Ubuntu 7.10 command line, with KDE on top. I noticed that although my theme, icons etc have been specifed, something is causing my selections to be overridden. So for example, I get the KDE 1 style icons instead of the default KDE 3.5 ones! In addition, other elements of the theme are being overridden, such as my progress bars and the window decorators in general. I also had problems with my kdmrc file (/etc/kde3/kdm/kdmrc), and when looking into it I found out that my settings were being overridden.

I hope this is informative, any suggestions?

Please bear in mind that I installed using the alternative cd and then installed the package "kde" via apt.

Hi,

Did you try removing the ~/.kde folder and then re-login into kde?

Regards

thanks for the tip, i tried it, followed the wizard but the problem remains.

I'm starting to think that kdmrc may actually be overriding the settings. To be honest, I don't know much about this so I'm unsure what the cause is.

In the control center -> KDE Components -> Session Manager -> On Login

Verify that the option "Restore previous settings" is checked, if not, check that and apply.
