Question /proc/kcore file is getting bigger and bigger.

hello,

Recently, I noticed my hard disk free size is getting smaller, when I tried to find the problem, I found that the file /proc/kcore size is 1GB, after half an hour its size raised .5GB.

My problem is, the day before that this problem was not there, and the free size in my disk is good. Now its size getting bigger hour after hour until it reaches 1-1.5GB.

I'm running Ubuntu 7.10 on a Laptop with 2GB ram, 100GB hard disk, 1.6GHz centrino duo.

Please help me to resolve the problem. Thanx

/proc is a virtual filesystem so it's contents, while it may look like they're occupying any, don't take up any "real" space. If there's growth it'll be temporary files in /tmp or /var/tmp, caching in /var/cache, user files in /home and logs in /var/log.
