If you choose recovery options it should offer images to load.
If it doesn't don't commit, you'll need to backup C:\ partition
Which you should do anyway.

what recovery options. i hold f8 all it says is menu with safe mode when i go into safe mode it just says gateway recovery. do you want to delete all data etc. except only difference is it says safemode as background

theres other options on the menu. when i hit win key and r it just says boot into windows then it just goes right back to gateway recovery

You need to backup partition 2 so that you can recover data.
You may have to do factory restore.
Then you can reload everything.

genoboss 01-03-2011 11:12 PM

But i dont even know for sure if i even still have data on partition 2. Must of it was prolly deleted. i was wondering if i could use photorec then do a backup so i can get my files back. If i cant i cant

Too much data there for it to be gone.

genoboss 01-04-2011 06:54 AM

How would i backup partition 2.

EDDY1 01-04-2011 07:56 PM

You can save an image of drive on another drive or you could clone it. There are other options, but you have to choose. But there are restore points you just can't access them. So if you backup your second partition and do a full system restore then you can figure out how to put restore points back in.
