Did you press p to see if there are any files in this one
D HPFS - NTFS 1827 181 19 38913 70 5 595779584 [OS]
If files are there,
Change D to P with arrows and write to disk.

i know for sure theres data on this partition i dont know why its showing that. i didnt do anything but delete the partition i didnt even format

EDDY1 12-24-2010 07:58 PM

What type of machine?
Is it vista or wins 7?

Your PQService has everything you need.

genoboss 12-24-2010 08:55 PM

Gateway and i have windows 7..

from the information i provided do you think theres stil a chance the data is still on there?
im sure i didnt delete it
all i did was delete the partition by accident it became unallocated space then i made an partition out of it for Linux then used testdisk which restored my partition table back and it deleted something that helped boot it. the boot menu

EDDY1 12-24-2010 09:10 PM

WHat model?
You can do a full recovery with PQService.
Do you have a hd enclosure and access to another wins7 system?

genoboss 12-24-2010 09:11 PM

i dont know what a hd enclosure is and im talking to you from Linux that i have on my flash drive

EDDY1 12-24-2010 09:12 PM

You need to know factory restore keys for your model gateway.
You have gparted so change boot flag to PQService and use restore keys for mine it's Alt+F10
yours are most likely different.

genoboss 12-24-2010 09:19 PM

if i use PQservice will this restore all my windows 7 data and programs?

If you look at results of first testdisk partitions overlapped so data is lost.
If you didn't backup it's gone. Fresh system.

There are 2 files you may need from PQservice.
MBRwrWin.exe
RTMBR.bin.

Before you try this do the other thing and see if it works.I'll tell you how to get those 2 files and what 2 do with them after you see if you need them.

EDDY1 12-24-2010 09:34 PM

Alt+F10 for gateway at boot screen

genoboss 12-24-2010 10:08 PM

I have windows vista on my PQservice my laptop came with vista

EDDY1 12-24-2010 10:14 PM

Did you change PQService to boot using Gparted?
Right click on partition
select manage flags
select boot
Did you try Alt+F10 at boot?

genoboss 12-24-2010 11:15 PM
