Problem when trying to upload pdf file
 

I have Firefox 3.6.13 in two computers, one with Windows XP and another with Ubuntu 10.10. When I try to upload my CV in pdf (pt3669.pdf) to this site: http://www.fep.up.pt/bolsadeemprego/ (login required), this error message appears:

Erro ao actualizar o Curriculum Vitae.
O tipo de ficheiro não é do tipo PDF.

which means the file is not recognized as a pdf file.

But when I do exactly the same thing on Windows XP, the file is uploaded successfully. It seems like a bug on the Ubuntu version of Firefox, no?

the second bug seems to be similar tot he one u had but its been reported 2 years ago and i guess should have been resolved by now

Sorry, new3l!nux, but I don't think either of those bugs are the same issue... The first is to do with Google docs, and if you read down the Google employee says it was resolved. The second one is to do with server shares, though it isn't listed as solved (they have a workaround)

Perhaps the best thing you (512upload) could do is install other browsers (Opera, Chromium, Epiphany, Conkeror - some off the top of my head which appear in the Ubuntu Software Centre) and see if you experience the same problems. Another thing you could do is to install Fiddler2 on Windows and a programme such as WireShark on Ubuntu - both of these can monitor what is sent to and from your browser, so you could compare and see what they are doing differently. While this might not help you solve the problem, you will know what is going wrong, so you can search for a solution and/or ask a more specific question :)
