[SOLVED] Problem compiling BASIC-256 from source

Yes but the version in Ubuntu repo is 0.9.2 and has a lot of bugs,That is why i went to compile it in the first place

Well, then you can use the two files from the Ubuntu package :
/usr/share/menu/basic256
/usr/share/applications/basic256.desktop

http://de.archive.ubuntu.com/ubuntu/...9.2-2_i386.deb
The command : dpkg -x basic256_0.9.2-2_i386.deb <destination-folder>
.... will unpack the files.

Well the Icon had appeared upon placing the two files in the said folders under Applications>Programing>,But after I rebooted my system the icon in the menu was gone.The files in /menu & /applications are intact but the icon has disappeared from the menu?
