problem changing the boot order
I just did a clean install of Windows Vista and then installed Ubuntu 12.04 using wubi. Everything went well except the boot order is Vista first and Vista second.
/boot/grub/grub.cfg has makes no reference to Windows Vista:
menuentry 'Ubuntu, with Linux 3.2.0-24-generic' --class ubuntu --class gnu-linux --class gnu --class os {
menuentry 'Ubuntu, with Linux 3.2.0-24-generic (recovery mode)' --class ubuntu --class gnu-linux --class gnu --class os {
menuentry 'Ubuntu, with Linux 3.2.0-23-generic' --class ubuntu --class gnu-linux --class gnu --class os {
menuentry 'Ubuntu, with Linux 3.2.0-23-generic (recovery mode)' --class ubuntu --class gnu-linux --class gnu --class os {
Startup Manager doesn't list Windows Vista either but I suspect it is just readling the grub.cfg file
When I did a reboot of the machine, I noticed that it is using Windows Boot Manager. I like the fact that it gives only two listings of Windows Vista and Ubuntu without listing memtest and other versions of Ubuntu.
I've never experienced this in the past wubi because it always defaulted to Ubuntu. I would like to modify the setup using Windows Boot Manager but can't figure out how. Any help on this? I assume the answer will be to use grub but I'm reluctant because it doesn't seem to even to be seeing Windows Vista.
