Print server issues
I have a Hawkings IP print server that I have my Lexmark z42 plugged into. I've been trying to configure a printer under Ubuntu using system/Administration/Printing but it just isn't working. Here are the steps I go through:
New Printer
Network Printer
Unix Printer (LPD)
Host 10.1.70.20
Queue: lp2
Then I go through and pick the lexmark z42. It gives no errors. When I try to print a test print, it puts it in the queue, then it disappears. Nothing prints.
On Windows XP (my other boot partition and my gf's laptop). I would do basically the same thing:
New Printer
Local port
new local port/ IP Port
Assign the IP address, go into the configuration and tell it that it's a lpr print queue assigned to lp2.
Install the driver.
After that it works fine on XP, so I know the server works. I just can't get it to print from Ubuntu at all.
if I'm doing anything wrong, of ir anyone knows how I can get this working I would appreciate any help. this is the last hurdle I have to figure out.
Thanks in advance.
