Talking Please Help - Trash doesn't work on external hard drive

I installed Ubuntu and everything works great including my external hard drive. I can easily delete files on the firewire connected hard drive when I use Gnome but I can't delete files on the external hard drive if I use KDE. I installed KDE with kubuntu-desktop

Please help. Is my external hard drive tied to Gnome some how because Gnome was installed first?

maybe it's a permissions thing?
