pidgin and yahoo
This is a very old problem indeed---the compatibility of yahoo with pidgin is disrupted once again...
can anyone give me a solution??
i have tried changing the proxy server to 66.163.181.180 but to no effect....connection is always refused...scs.msg.yahoo.com too doesn't seem to work for many days...

go here.. & follow the instructions...
http://www.pidgin.im/download/ubuntu/
go to the update manager & check for updates. it'll now give you all the latest fixes from their site.

Do you need to use a proxy server? Try it with no proxy server.
