Package Manager Error (Ubuntu 6.06)

So in the top right corner there is a icon for updates the orange square with the little lightbulb/star-thing. When I double-click on it I get the following error

The following problems were found on your system:
E: Type 'sudo' is not known on line 37 in source list /etc/apt/sources.list
E: The list of sources could not be read.
Go to the repository dialog to correct the problem.
So I just got Ubuntu a few days ago, and I am thinking about getting a book to read aboue linux. But right now I don't know anything about the linux commands and the BASH shell, so any advice to fix this problem would be fantastic.

I went to the IRC support channel and got things working again, so you can delete this topic if you wish.
