numeric keypad/board doesnt work


my numeric keypad , or numeric keyboard , (the numeric part of the keyboard on the right of it) stop working.

I activate it and deactivate it, i also change the entire keyboard, I change to another keyboard USB, ... nothing happens.

what can I do ???

I have Ubuntu 9.04

Try
Numlock on, off, on

It should work now Otherwise swap keyboards.

If your keyboard is still not working properly, try running in the terminal:
Code:
sudo dpkg-reconfigure console-setup
then reboot your system.

I know you said you are running Ubuntu 9.04, but I think this still applies to the newer versions of Ubuntu after 8.10.

It does work fine for Debian 6.0.5 (Linux d 2.6.32-5-686 #1 SMP Sun May 6 04:01:19 UTC 2012 i686 GNU/Linux) with a HP Pavilion DV8000 (DV8211EA).
