not detecting cpu temp

I'm running an AMD 64 (AM2 socket) on an ASUS mobo and I can't get any utilities to display my cpu temp. (Ktemperature, Karamba themes, etc.) I also have this same problem with my Shuttle XPC running an Athlon XP 3200.

Anybody else have similar issues? Know a solution?

First make sure you have lm_sensors installed;
then run sensors-detect as root

I'd already done that. I just unistalled and reinstalled the sensor packages and ran sensors detect again.

I just noticed one more significant thing. I just checked a 3rd box and it works on this one. A big noticable differance is that when I open configure Ksensors on the box that works properly, there is am icon in the left panel for Mainboard Sensors, but this is not present on the other PC.
