noobie question about rc.d file

I have been working on a wireless card problem and believe i have it resolved, but in order to make the fix permenant i am supposed to add a line to the /etc/rc.d/pcmcia file. The fix was written for my hardware but using SuSe not Ubuntu. I looked, and there is no rc.d directory, but rather rc0.d-rc6.d plus rcS.d, each with a pcmcia file. What should I use?

Go to terminal, and type in:
Quote:
sudo runlevel
This should return something like: "N 2". If it's "N 2", then change the pcmcia file in the rc2.d directory. It the result is "N 3", then alter the pcmcia file in the rc3.d directory, etc...

This is what I was told a day or two ago - it should be correct!
