no screens found when using via drivers

Hi !!

I'm teja from India. I'm using Kubuntu 5.10 on my box (athlon 2800+, 512MB ram and 80GB sata).

I'm using gigabyte (K8M800) motherboard with an onboard graphics card (unichrome pro ... VT3204). Whenever I use via drivers, xserver complains that it isn't able to find any screens (actually, it says that the given hsync and vrefresh aren't in the ddc range, inspite of using many other combinations of hsync and vrefresh, I get the same error of "no screens found" :( ). But vesa works just fine (without acceleration though). I'm desperate to get the via driver (and DRI) working on my comp. This being my first post, I'm not able to post the URL where I downloaded the drivers from. I picked them up from the link available on unichrome.sourceforge.net

Here are my Xorg.0.log and xorg.conf files.

Please help me with the problem.

Hi
The reason you're getting this error:
Quote:

Fatal server error:
no screens found
is because of this error:
Quote:

(EE) Screen(s) found, but none have a usable configuration.
And the reason for that, is this:
Quote:

(EE) VIA(0): No valid modes found
which is most likely because of this:
Quote:

(WW) VIA(0): config file hsync range 28-49kHz not within DDC hsync ranges.
(WW) VIA(0): config file vrefresh range 43-72Hz not within DDC vrefresh ranges.
So, try commenting out these two lines:
HorizSync 28-49
VertRefresh 43-72

and give it a whirl.
