Hi everyone my problem is as follows. I duel boot with XP/UBUNTU 8.10 my problem is I cannot get any internet access. XP allows me access but not Ubuntu I use a maxon bp3-ext with bigpond. Remember I have no access with Ubuntu so I cannot download programmes.
I have tried various live distro's to no avail.
The next problem I also have a HP Pavilion dv600 laptop I would like to use a linux based operating system with this but until I solve my net access problem I cannot change. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

I have tried in the wireless internet area and tried all that has been suggested.
I would love to be able to get rid of microsoft but until I can get net I am in trouble..

I had also faced same error years ago , so just installed a wrapper called Ndis wrapper , then it worked .. May be u shud also give a try .

Tried the wrapper but still no joy
