No internet Dimension E520

Will boot to live CD after a bunch of ATA errors but the more important thing is no internet.

tried lspci dmesg and it shows nothing. Also went into device manager and there is a bunch of unknowns. Also thru menu tried to setup net and all that is there is my dialup modem.

Any ideas?

what live cd?
what version?
what type of connection? wireless or wired?

newest version just downloaded last week.

wired into router

I ask lot of questions sorry I work tech support and it kinda habbit

is it a FBSD live cd? I know your profile says FreeBSD but I wasn't sure if maybe you were trying something else like ubuntu, mepis, or suse

if it's FBSD I don't think I can really be of much help to you I've never worked with any BSD distro
but I am curious, can you use NDISWrapper to install the drivers for your NIC? or will that not work on BSD?
