Nework setup

I cannot figure ou ho to get the netwok set up in ubuntu, really weird. I cannot access the internet nor my windbloze network? How do I do this?

Do not really know what went wrong in your brief descriptions.

There are several things you could check, such as:

1) is your network card detected? command-line: ifconfig
2) check whether your driver network card is supported.

Are you experiencing two seperate problems? I assume you have a router and two or more boxes connected to it. Are you saying that your Linux box will not access the internet through the router and also you cannot access the windows box that is also attached to the router on another port?

The first problem is an ethernet connection problem, and the second is a Samba problem.

I am connected to a LAN with lots of PC's, thru a hub. I did not set up the network when I did the Ubuntu install, since I wanted to do it later. When I plugged in my network/internet cable, nothing happend. I tried to manually set it up, with the IP adress and gateway, etc., but it still did not work.
