NetZero Problems on Kubuntu and Ubuntu


I have tried using the linux version of netzero on both Kubuntu and Ubuntu. The program would not start for me on either OS. Any tips?

Start it from the command line and report the errors you get.

Heres what it says when i run it in command.

espionage724@espionage-desktop:~$ '/opt/nzclient/nzppp'
Usage: ppp [option]

Options:
-c Make ppp connection!
-d End ppp connection!
-h Help!
-l Show last 24 messages from /var/log/messages!
-s Setup ppp conection!
-v Show version!
espionage724@espionage-desktop:~$

Heres what I do.


espionage724@espionage-desktop:~$ sudo '/opt/nzclient/nzppp' -s

Press Ctrl-C to quit!

Enter your login name: *********
Enter your password: ********
Enter your ISP's phone number. (ie 6661776): 7245653200
What port is your modem on? (ttyS0 ttyS1 ttyS2 or ttyS3): ttyS4
encoding s9

PPP Configured!
Run 'ppp -c' to connect to your ISP.

-----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Heres what I do next.


espionage724@espionage-desktop:~$ '/opt/nzclient/nzppp' -c
Dialing...
/rm: cannot remove './dat/localppp' : No such file or directory
/rm: cannot remove './dat/localppp' : No such file or directory
/usr/sbin/pppd: Can't open log file ./dat/localppp: No such file or directory
espionage724@espionage-desktop:~$
-----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
