Network settings in Ubuntu

Hi Everybody,

I wonder if someonw could reccommend the settings for an Ubuntu box I intend to use on a home network as a client for an FC4 NFS server. I have Samba set up but for some reason the Ubuntu box just does not want to play. Can ping OK and netstat looks OK, but I am somehow missing the correct settings for Ubuntu as it will not recognize anything on the network. Have checked iptables, no problem there. If someone could just recommend how they would set up Ubuntu for this purpose (what entries in hosts files, etc.). As it is, I only get "Connection refused" from the Ubuntu box. FC4 seems ok (at least with samba).

Any help greatly appreciated.

Bob

NFS is not a windows network. You need the nfs client not the samba client.

You can get them via synaptic or, I guess, apt-get install nfs-client.
