Question Need Ubuntu One for dummies

Ubuntu One doesn't seem to be working for me; maybe I'm just dumb. I go through all the motions of clicking on upload file, click browse, attach files, click on upload. Then at the bottom of the screen, it says “sending request to files.one.ubuntu.com.” That's what it said last night (nine hours ago) and there was no change this morning. What do I need to do?

Further, the Ubuntu One Dashboard says
Files
You are currently using 308.4 MB of your 2.0 GB available for synchronized data. While under the Account tab, it accurately says that I have 50 GB. Why isn't the dashboard in sync with my account?

Also, Ubuntu One doesn't work, i.e., Ubuntu One under system > preferences doesn't connect me to Ubuntu One, nor does Ubuntu One under Me (upper right corner). What to do?

Personally I found Ubuntu One way too buggy last time I tried it (in Karmic). If you're still in Karmic, perhaps upgrading to Lucid will do the trick.

My solution however, was to use dropbox instead. I found it very stable, and I am quite satisfied. www.dropbox.com

Yeah, I should have read between the lines on my Linux Mint os and purchased more Dropbox space; but as it is, I've purchased more space on Ubuntu One.

What to do?
