Need clarification on priority in etc alternatives system
Man page says: ¨Each alternative has a priority associated with it. When a link group is in automatic mode, the alternatives pointed to by members of the group will be those which have the highest priority.¨
Simply put, which is considered the highest priority, 0 or 9999? Is there a 0 or does it start at 1? Jim C. |
executed this: update-alternatives --skip-auto --all
... kdesu - auto mode link currently points to /usr/bin/kdesudo /usr/bin/kdesudo - priority 100 /usr/lib/kde4/libexec/kdesu-distrib/kdesu - priority 50 Current 'best' version is '/usr/bin/kdesudo'. ... The block above and many others like it seem to indicate that 100 is a higher rank than 50 so I am rolling with that. |
