Question Nautilus does not stop after logging out

Is the following behavior OK on UBUNTU 7.10 . I have three users on my desktop root and say x, and y . I log in as user x the logout and log in as user y . Now on running top I see many user x programs running .
I tried this on Fedora that also shows some programs running but not nautilus.
