Mplayer-plugin for Firefox doesn't work at all
Hi,
Some video on interner require a Quicktime plugin.
I'm using Ubuntu Dapper and I'm browsing with Firefox so
I install Mplayer and Mplayer-plugin from repositories but
Firefox shows me the Mplayer-plugin interface but it freezes
when I try to start the video I need.
The plugin's name is mozilla-mplayer and the description is:
Mplayer-Plugin for Mozilla so I tried to install and use the old Mozilla
but, as Firefox does, it doesn't work...anyway there's something new:
after installing Mozilla if you use Firefox again you'll get a "no-video"
message instead of the Mplayer-plugin inteface, I'm wondering why it happens
but my first idea is to solve this problem, anyone has a solution?
I know I could download and install the last software version from source whising
everything was fixed in the last release but I'd prefer to understand what's going
wrong with the .deb
Thank you in advance,
deadlinx

You might want to goto the mplayer site and download/install the essential codecs (Linux x86 20060611), they normally go someplace like /usr/lib/win32 (might have to create the location);

There are times when a video doesn't cooperate in the browser. At those times I download it and play with mplayer or gxine. mplayer brings with it a large mix of codecs.

--> Solution <--
Hi,
I discover that server doesn't work
good in that period --> it's not a Mplayer fault ;-)
sincerely
