i use kubuntu larest version on ibm 50e.
everything woprks very well.
i dl mozilla and tried to install it.
but i got an error
"libgtk-x11-2.0.so is missing"
you need to download and install gtk, it seems...kubuntu/ubuntu has an apt system i think for handling downloads and dependencies, which would help you greatly....

as i install the kubutu is does not create a su account so i have no password.

in Kubuntu or Ubuntu, you have to use SUDO. So at the command prompt. you can type SUDO SU <enter> then enter password and then you can enter commends normally.
Go to the Kmenu, system, Knaptic. Enter your user password. Search, gtk, see what comes up. Click on the gtk lib that you need then install. You should read the ubuntu started guide at www.ubuntuguide.org too.
