Unhappy Mouse Problem

Hello,

I have installed Ubuntu 6.06 on my computer which is a slow one using the alternate install cd but there is a problem I cannot solve.

When I boot into Ubuntu, in the text information parts of the boot sequance I get an IRQ error message but it goes too fast for me to read.

Then in the fancy bootscreen while ubuntu boots everything is checked o.k.

When ubuntu boots completely things work fine and at normal speed (even with this pc). I am going to start optimizing ubuntu but I cannot.

The problem is my mouse. I have an A4 Tech 4 button, 2 Wheel optical usb mouse (too frivilously fancy for a mouse right). But the mouse moves in discrete jumpy steps and cannot respond as fast as it should. I mean everything is fine but the mouse. So I really cannot use my operating system with such a mouse.

I do not know if it is a driver issue or a hardware issue, so I will write down my pc specs in case.

Please Help

Thanks in advance.

My PC specifications are:

-I do not know my Mainboard
-Intel Pentium III 450.
-192 MB Ram
-5400 RPM 6.4 GB HDD Western Digital
-ASUS TNT2 16MB Graphics Adapter
