Mount windows partition on boot

I added the following line to my /etc/fstab file

Code:
/dev/hda1 /media/sda1 ntfs nls=utf8,umask=0222 0 0
to mount the windows partition of my HDD when the machine boots. However, if i navigate to the directory in Konqueror it is empty. Likewise if i run the shortcut on my desktop i get an error message informing me only root can mount the device. If i open a terminal and type

Code:
mount /dev/sda1 /media/sda1
it works like a charm only for the duration of that session.

What i dont get though is that i also have a FAT32 partition for sharing stuff between the two OS's which i added an entry for in the same fstab file and that mounts every time as i would hope.

Anyone have any ideas why my windows partition isn't being mounted upon boot?

thanks

Hello LDJ,

Is it because you wrote at your fstab /dev/hda1 instead of /dev/sda1 ? because if yes then that's the problem the system is trying to mount on boot an IDE hdd.

I found on the web a way not only to mount correctly your ntfs drive on startup but to have write support also.
Check this
The guide is for ubuntu, it should work like a charm

About fuse, it's still beta but haven't heard (or actually read) anyone complained.
