Doesn't it depend on what make/model it is ???
Only I have just about all the possible "digicam" type apps installed because I don't know enough about them.
So when I plug it it (a fujifilm f810), I just get a dialogue about kde having detected something and what do I want to do with it. I just select the "open in a new window" option and just click through the directory until it shows me the thumbnails of the pictures on the camera memory card.
