First of all, it would help if you posted the exact command you used. Second, you need to specify which chipset and driver you are using, not all of them support Monitor mode.
Distribution: Windows 8.1. Attempting to get Slack 14.1 working.

You are absolutely correct and I apologize for the noob post. Here is the info:

My chipset: Broadcom Corporation BCM4312 802.11b/g (rev 01)
Are you using the driver from the kernel, or ndiswrapper?
If you are using the kernel driver, you should try applying the Aircrack patch to it, as this adds in advanced features like what you are looking for. If you are using ndiswrapper though, you won't be able to go into monitor mode at all.

I am using the kernel driver. How do I apply the Aircrack patch?
