missing screen resolution

My screen (a Formac 21') native resolution is 1600x1200 but (k)ubuntu 7.04 doesn't offer better than 1024x768. Do I have to go and fiddle with xorg.conf file or is there a way to get the system to probe better ?

Thanks

Have you tried doing
Code:
$sudo dpkg-reconfigure xserver-xorg

Yes, but any changes you make will be lost at the next boot because the "livedisk CD" doesn't write to your HDD.
