message on startup - ignoring aperture beyond 1GB --- is this normal?

Each time my 8.10 Ubuntu initiates I see a message on-screen, which says something to the effect of ignoring aperture beyond 1GB. Have checked System - Administration - System Monitor - Resources to make sure my 4GB of ram is being recognized and it is. Just wondering if anyone can shed some light on what the "aperture" message refers to. Enquiring minds etc. Thanks, cheers

There is a very long bug report related to Ubuntu Intrepid, here. If the functioning of your system is not affected you can ignore it, until a fix is released.

thanks colucix

Many thanks for reply colucix. Didn't think there was a problem, but was just wondering why the msg. Mine is a clean install of 64bit 8.10 on an amd cpu w/asus mobo. Wasn't sure if I'd gotten this startup msg since Dapper and subsequent versions or not, as I've just noticed it after installing 8.10. Looks like its nothing serious and it will be corrected as a matter of course. Thanks, cheers.
