Making wireless work
Hi all!
I have a little problems which can be divided into two questions: 1) How do I make wireless work under Ubuntu? can some one help me doing this? I have tried looking a bit on the net but I didn't figure out how to resolve my problem. 2) It is good to precise that on my laptop, before, when I was using Windows XP, to connect to a wireless network I had just to click on a button on my keyboard. Does this influence in any case the procedure of making my wireless work? The card I am using is : Broadcom Corporation BCM4306 802.11b/g Wireless LAN Controller Further Informations: My network works like this: Internet <-> Ethernet Router <-> Switch <-> Wifi Spot (Some PCs are connected to the switch) It would be great if someone could help me. Thanks allot! See you all fp |
Broadcom hasn't released Linux drivers for their wireless chipsets, or the specs to make open source drivers for them. You need to look into ndiswrapper, which will let you use a Windows wireless driver in Linux.
