Making Ubuntu Ultimate 1.3 Disk Error-Free?

I'm trying to make an Ubuntu Ultimate 1.3 disk from a downloaded ISO image. On my XP machine I've downloaded the ISO image (a couple of times), verified the MD5 checksum (so far so good) and burned the DVD with Nero 6, and verified the data written to the disk. Everything comes back "no Error" so far.

But when I boot the disk and "Check disk for defects" it comes back with a "1 checksums failed" message.

I've tried a different DVD drive, different media brands, etc. all with the same results.

I was able to get the basic Ubuntu "Edgy" _CD_ image to download and self boot to "0 checksums failed" but I can't get this to work with the Ultimate version.

Any ideas on what to check next? I'd kind of like to try installing this from a zero error disk, of possible...Or is this behaviour normal??

sounds like a fluke with Ubuntu

If u have burned with different drives and media the only other option is to burn the image with a different computer. It seems to me that there may be something wrong with Ubuntu's error checking program.(not sure what they use)

OK, I'll move the ISO image file over to another box and try it from there. I'll post results here.

Hmmm...Has anybody gotten Ubuntu_Ultimate_1.3.iso to perform a Check Disk for Defects with Zero errors? I'm on the third PC making this disk (still showing "1 checksums failed" when running "Check Disk for Defects") and I've re-downloaded the ISO image, and rechecked the MD5 checksum.

Can someone confirm that this image does indeed complete Check disk for Defects with "0" (zero) errors?

Again, the basic Ubuntu disk completes with zero defects just fine, and I can get the ultimate 1.2 dvd to complete with zero defects just fine.

Thanks in Advance...
