Lubuntu "starting version 219"

hi All
I've been running Lubuntu 15.04 for a while now, I often need to switch to priority drivers for some software. I need to swap as with priority I get a slight delay on certain function, without I can run unreal engine.
However on swapping this morning to priority amd drivers I get a starting version 216 error and lock up before desktop opens. This is a bug lots of people have reported and I've found fixes for Ubuntu and xbuntu, but none for Lubuntu. I've tried "sudo systemctl disable -f" but no luck. Can anyone advise please?

I should add if from grub I run kernel or any before this it starts fine, its only with the latest kernel that the issue starts.
