[SOLVED] lubuntu 1404 HP Pavilion wifi connection

Which command / process is required to activate the internal wifi software / hardware? There is a light at the front which turns blue when connection is made. It is constantly orange. This item is a switch which turns the wifi on and off.

I got wifi working by plugging in a patriot 802.11n usb adapter.

What is the model number of your Pavilion? For example, my laptop is a Pavilion dv9830us.

I have a BCM 4312 card (14e4:4315 (rev 1) that required an updated driver to work according to the following instructions.
