Loss of sound after upgrade to 8.10, all I can hear is crackle

Hey all, I just recently upgraded to 8.10 upon starting up I tried to run amarok and all i can hear is this ugly crackle, no music what so ever. I figured it may just be amarok so I tried to listen to a youtube video and I got the same problem. Anyone have any clue what this could be. Ive been looking for documentation for a few hours and just cant seem to find anything that will solve my problem.

Here is my sound card info:
00:07.0 Audio device: nVidia Corporation MCP67 High Definition Audio (rev a1)
Subsystem: Hewlett-Packard Company Device 30cf
Flags: bus master, 66MHz, fast devsel, latency 0, IRQ 21
Memory at f6480000 (32-bit, non-prefetchable) [size=16K]
Capabilities: <access denied>
Kernel driver in use: HDA Intel
Kernel modules: snd-hda-intel

Thanks in advance any help is greatly appreciated.

Edit: Problem solved stupid error on my behalf. I tried everything but the most common sense solution. Alsa mixer showed that I wasnt muted but upon playing with volume control i saw that Master wasn't muted but PCM was.
