Hi, I am very new to Ubuntu and being a KDE lover i decided to download Kubuntu... Everything is working fine at the moment except for one thing, I cant access the repository to download new files. I am wanting to download some basic games and media codecs using the Add/Remove program but they wont show. I did some browsing on the Ubuntu website and it told me to set the repository in Adept, so I did, but no change i still cant download new files.

Current Settings:
Type: deb
URL: http://au.archive.ubuntu.com/ubuntu/
distro: dapper
components: universe multiverse

i enabled both deb and deb-scr. I also deleted/removed all the other comments etc. After this i did a

sudo apt-get update

but it returned this

connection timed out
could not connect

what's in your /etc/apt/sources.list file?
