Kubuntu live download
Noticed the Kubuntu live 5.1 is an iso.exe
Is this meant to run on Windows platform only and if not, is this ready to go and be burned to disk so I can check it out on my MDV10.2-KDEdesktop? Thanks |
Really? I went to the download page for USA, and this was the live CD link, and it appears to be .ISO, not .ISO.exe

K-live
Yes, I downloaded the i386 live version from Kubuntu site and it is listed on my partition as an iso.exe
This may be because I parked it on a FAT partition. K3b cannot find an iso. Maybe I will try to remove the .exe extension or move it to a ext3 part to see if that changes anything oK, removed the .exe and K3b now finds and burns an iso. Here are the files burned to disk file:/mnt/cdrom/autorun.inf file:/mnt/cdrom/md5sum.txt file:/mnt/cdrom/README.diskdefines file:/mnt/cdrom/start.bmp file:/mnt/cdrom/start.exe file:/mnt/cdrom/start.ini file:/mnt/cdrom/bin file:/mnt/cdrom/casper file:/mnt/cdrom/disctree file:/mnt/cdrom/.disk file:/mnt/cdrom/dists file:/mnt/cdrom/doc file:/mnt/cdrom/install file:/mnt/cdrom/isolinux file:/mnt/cdrom/pics file:/mnt/cdrom/pool file:/mnt/cdrom/preseed file:/mnt/cdrom/programs file:/mnt/cdrom/ubuntu OK - if I dwnload to the FAT partition, the download mgr lists it as an iso.exe If I dwnload to ext3 part then it seems to remain .iso Here's the problem-am out of room on the ext3 partition. I have 8gb available on the FAT partition. Any way around this? Thanks |
