kubuntu can't compile k3b **SOLVED**

I installed the source for k3b-0.12.14 (sudo apt-get source k3b). Configure (./configure) was ok but make gave me this error:
/bin/sed: can't read /usr/lib/libfam.la: No such file or directory
After some research I found that gamin is a replacement for fam.
Typing 'gamin' into the Adept search box I discovered something called: libgamin-dev, which includes, you guessed it, /usr/lib/libfam.la. Now k3b compiles ok.

I was kind of scratching my head asking 'what is k3b?'

So I "googled/linux" it and decided to install it on my home system. Thanks for starting this thread. I can come back to it if I run into the same issue as yours.

I started the post as a question. While researching it, so as to not seem a total noob, I solved it. BTW, it also installs and, so far, seems to work ok. Also, the same works for Krusader. In case you don't know, Krusader is two panel file browser/utility, much better, IMHO, than konqueor (at least for files).
Both of these apps, K3B and Krusader, have only old versions in the repositories. So the only options were to either wait for Kubuntu 6.1 or compile from source.
