kubuntu 7.04 shutdown

I have Kubuntu 7.04 installed on my Dell Optiplex GX150. When I go to shutdown I get the Kubuntu shutdown splash screen and it seams to just loop (Including turning on and off the monitor) until I click ctrl + alt + delete and then it will finish it up but then reboots not shuts it down. I also have the same problem when I try to do a reboot. What do I do?

Talking konsole fixes to kubuntu 7.04 and linux mint 2.2 shutdown bugs

ciao !

it happened to me too both on kubuntu 7.04 and linux mint kde 2,2 too so i formatted and installed mandriva 2007 spring dvd edition instead..mandriva is milions times better now,use it instead of kubuntu!

any way just do this way:

-open a konsole
-choose shell of root
-shutdown sistem typing init 0
-wait and it will shut down a little breezing but will shutdown

if you want to reboot type instead init 6

you could do the same out of graphic mode:

-
-open a konsole
-choose shell of root
-exit system typinG init 1 or init 3,don't remember..
-enter username and password-
-shutdown sistem typing init 0
-wait and it will shut down a little breezing but will shutdown

or for rebooting type init 6

CIAO AND GOOD LUCK !

Question boh ....?????

????

boh..

there must be a way by some config file somewhere but i don't know, try asking to aus9 or pixellany if you find them somewhere in the forums..anyway by the way i told you by konsole it was fixed on my pc,IT DID BOTH SHUTDOWN AND REBOOT WITHOUT NEVER LOCKING UP,I ONLY HAD TO DO SHUTDOWN AND REBOOT BY KONSOLE AND NOT IN THE GUI but i,'cos my nvidia 6600 gt driver crashed after installing the 9755 new driver,i thought it was not a good and stable distro and moved to mandriva..which is much, much better ! and i suggest you to do so too !

let me know how it goes..

ciao and good luck !
