Kubuntu 6.06 dapper: Where is the adept handbook?

Hi folks,

This weekend I installed Kubuntu 6.06. Looks nice but some apps don't work like they should.
The packagemanager looks pretty complex to me, and there is no handbook available, the F1 help-function does not work.
I have taken a look on Kubuntu.org: the Adept-handbook-link is dead.
Who knows more about this or is there a better application to manage the packages?

I installed kubuntu at the weekend too. It looks excellent.
I expect these links will help you, as I found them invaluable:

Almost 2 years later, & the OQ is still valid: WTF is the handbook/manual for Adept?

I'd really like to know where to look to find the answer. I don't need links to alternate sources of info. -- I can use Adept as is, or other, earlier, properly documented tools.

I want to know why the documentation for this application has gone unwritten for so long.

I don't care how intuitive the coders think their interface is, I don't trust software written by folk who are too lazy, arrogant, or whatever to write the handbook.

You are right, there isn't one.

But I have never needed to look for it - adept (to my mind) is beautifully written, and completely intuitive to use.
It also "works" in that it does what I expect it to do. Easily :)
The first time I used it (some years ago now), I opened it, looked at it, thought "Oh! I like this", and just set about using it.

If I was to email Peter Rockai, it'd be to say "Thanks for a great application", not "Where's the handbook?"

If the lack of a handbook/manual really annoys you, maybe you should write it? (Ducks, ;) )

If there is something about adept you are having trouble understanding or using, you are welcome to post here, and I'll do my best to help you sort it out.
